Scope

This privacy policy informs users about the nature, scope, and purpose of the collection and processing of their data by the responsible provider.

The Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG) and the German Telemedia Act (TMG) provide the legal framework for data protection.

Collection of general information

We, or rather the web space provider, collect information automatically every time you access this service. These so-called server log files contain general information and do not allow conclusions to be drawn concerning your person.

The information collected includes: Name of the website, file, date, data volume, web browser including web browser version, operating system, the domain name of your Internet provider, the so-called referrer URL (address of the page from which you accessed our service), along with the IP address.

Without this data, it would not be technically possible to deliver and display the contents of the website. The collection of data is therefore necessary. Furthermore, we use this anonymized data for statistical purposes. They help us to optimize the service and technology. We further reserve the right to subsequently inspect the log files if we suspect unlawful use of our service.

Processing of personal data

Definition: Personal data refers to any information that enables the unequivocal identification of a person. Accordingly, it concerns data, which traces to a specific person.

Personal data includes the first and last name, the telephone number, and the email address. Personal data also includes information on hobbies, memberships, and preferences, as well as accessed websites.

The provider collects, processes and, if necessary, transfers this data only if it is expressly allowed by law, or the data subject has consented to the collection, processing, use, and disclosure of the data.

Registration on our website

If you register on our website to receive personalized services, we will collect personal data. These include the name, address, telephone number and email address as contact and communication data.

The registration allows access to services and content that are only available to registered users. Registered users can change or delete the data provided during registration at any time. You can always contact us to gain access to personal data which have been collected and stored. You can further contact us to have the data corrected or deleted unless statutory retention obligations preclude the request. For any queries, as well as requests for correction or deletion of data you may have, please use the contact details stated in this privacy policy.

Newsletter

If you subscribe to our newsletter, we will use the provided information solely for this purpose or to inform you of the circumstances relevant to that service or registration. We do not disclose this data to third parties.

To receive the newsletter, you need a valid email address. We also store the IP address you use to sign up for the newsletter including the date on which you subscribe. These data serve as documentation in case of misuse if a third-party email address for the newsletter is registered. Furthermore, to prevent the unauthorized subscription of an email address to our mailing list by third parties, we employ the so-called “Double opt-in” procedure according to the relevant laws. This process includes recording the subscription to the newsletter, the dispatch of the confirmation email and the receipt of the registration confirmation.

You may withdraw your consent to the storage of the data, your email address and their use for the newsletter dispatch at any time. You can find a link to the withdrawal form in every newsletter and on the website. You further have the option to inform us of your wish to withdraw using the contact options mentioned in this document.

Contact form

If you contact us via the online form or by email, we will save the information you have provided to respond to your request and to ask possible follow-up questions.

Integration of services and third-party content

Our services may include the content and services of other providers. For example, these would be maps provided by Google Maps, videos from YouTube, as well as graphics and images from other websites. Accessing and displaying these data in the user’s browser requires the transmission of the IP address. The providers (from now on referred to as “third-party provider”) can thus see the IP address of the respective user.

We strive to use only third-party providers who require the IP address exclusively to deliver content; however, we have no control over whether they may store the IP address. In this case, this process serves, among other things, statistical purposes. If we become aware that the IP address is being stored, we will inform our users.

Cookies

This website uses so-called cookies. These are text files that the server transmits to your computer, which subsequently stores them. They contain information about the browser, the IP address, the operating system, and the Internet connection. We do not disclose this information to third parties or link it to personal data without your consent.

Cookies accomplish two main tasks. They help us make our services more user-friendly and ensure the correct display of the website. They are not used to introduce viruses or launch programs.

Users can access our services without cookies. For this purpose, it is necessary to change the corresponding settings of the web browser. Please consult the “Help” function of your web browser to find out how to disable cookies. However, please be aware that this may impair some features on this website and reduce user convenience. Both http://www.aboutads.info/choices/ (USA) and http://www.youronlinechoices.com/uk/your-ad-choices/ (Europe) allow you to manage online ad cookies.

Data minimization

Following the principles of data avoidance and minimization, we do not store personal data any longer than is necessary or required by law (statutory retention period). We block or delete the data once the purpose of the collected information ceases to be relevant or the storage period lapses.

Your right of access, rectification, blocking, right to erasure, and right to object

You have the right to request, free of charge, information about the personal data we store or obtain a rectification, blocking or deletion of data concerning your person. Exceptions: The storage of data is either necessary to conduct business or subject to statutory retention obligations.

Please get in touch with our data protection officer for further information (you will find the contact details at the end of the privacy policy).

Considering a data lock at any time requires keeping the data in a lock file for control purposes. If there are no statutory retention obligations, you may also request the deletion of the data. Otherwise, we will block the data if you so desire.

Changes to our privacy policy

We retain the right to make changes at any time to ensure that our privacy policy always conforms to current legal requirements. These changes also apply whenever the privacy policy has to be adapted in light of new or revised services, such as new service features. The new privacy policy will take effect the next time you access our services.
